Are you on team crunchy or team creamy? What are we talking about? Peanut butter, of course! January 24th is National Peanut Butter Day so you can bet that that’s what we’re going to talk about today. Peanut butter is an ancient food, dating back to around the year 1000 B.C.E., when Aztecs and Incas would grind peanuts into a paste – not exactly the same creamy (or crunchy) stuff that we use for our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but we can consider it peanut butter’s first known incarnation. It wasn’t until much, much later that peanut butter became a thing, when it was debuted at the 1904 Universal Exposition in St. Louis, Missouri. The rest is history.
