If you have a sweet tooth, but are trying to reach your protein goals I’ve got you covered with 25 high protein desserts, each with at least 5 grams of protein.

I’ll be the first to admit that I have the biggest sweet tooth! I’m that person who always needs a little something sweet after dinner, even if it’s just a piece of chocolate.

That said, when it comes to homemade desserts I’m all about recipes that are lighter, protein-packed and made with real-food ingredients, but are still delicious and will satisfy your sweet tooth. Here I’m sharing 20 of my favorite high protein desserts, like my viral cottage cheese cookies, protein cake and greek yogurt popsicles, which are a favorite with my kids! There’s something to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth here.

If you’re wondering why I care about protein or why I’m sharing a bunch of high protein desserts with you it’s because protein is one of the three macronutrients necessary for our body’s functions (along with fat and carbohydrates).

Protein helps build your bones, muscles, tissues and organs and also keeps those things functioning properly. On a less science-y note, protein helps you feel full and satisfied, helps with cravings and can help maintain your weight.

I typically aim to get protein in at every meal (you can also check out my favorite high protein breakfast recipes, high protein lunch recipes and high protein snacks) and desert is no exception.

All of the desserts I’m sharing here include some source of protein, from protein powder and tofu to cottage cheese and greek yogurt. They’re all guaranteed to keep you full and satisfy your sweet tooth!

Get the pasta cooking first, then whisk up 3 large eggs, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan and a pinch of salt. Set aside. In a large skillet, cook 4 oz pancetta or bacon over medium heat until crispy, then remove from heat. Add 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley to the pan and let it wilt for a bit. Now add your cooked spaghetti to the pan, tossing everything together. Pour in the egg mixture, stirring constantly with a fork until it’s all nice and creamy. Finally, add another sprinkle of Parmesan and you’re done!
