Feeling like you have the winter blues? It’s common for people to start feeling down during the winter months. The days are shorter and darker; it’s cold, and we spend too much time indoors. We may be exhausted and broke from the holidays. This is the time we start craving carbs and sweets which usually only make us feel better while we’re eating them and we often regret it later. Instead, we should turn to colorful foods which have the power to improve our moods.

Scientists have known for a long time that color can improve our mood – blue tends to calm us, red energizes us and yellow makes us happy. Colorful food not only looks prettier, but the phytonutrients that give fruits and veggies their color promotes health, protects against disease and can influence our moods. To learn more about the health benefits of colorful food, read Eat the Colors of the Rainbow with These Clean-Eating Recipes. So if you have the winter blues, step away from the boring brown foods. These bright and colorful dishes will help brighten your day.

Italian Orzo Pasta Salad
Italian Orzo Salad with Lemon Zing and a Touch of Green (A Fresh Mediterranean Twist) This title incorporates the key elements: “Italian” specifies the style, “Orzo” identifies the pasta type clearly, “Lemon Zing” highlights a bright, tangy element that adds vibrancy to the dish, and “a Touch of Green” suggests freshness or inclusion of fresh herbs/vegetables. This title is engaging because: * Uses sensory language (“Lemon Zing,” “Touch of Green”) * Suggests brightness and freshness. * Keeps the original meaning intact (Italian Orzo Salad) * Adds a descriptive element that makes it more appealing.
