Are you ever craving something sweet after dinner, but don’t want to go through the trouble of making a cake or cookies? Are you a fan of raw foods? If you said yes to these questions, then no-bake treats are for you! They are super easy to make, and if you stock up on some key ingredients that many no-bake or raw dessert recipes utilize, then you will always be armed to defeat your sweet craving! Read on to discover what these ubiquitous ingredients are and what appliances you need to create these treats.

No-Bake Treats Ingredients

1. Raw or Dried Fruits

Medjool dates are the best for any recipe that calls for dates because they retain more moisture than their pitted counterparts. The only downside to these delectably sweet and wonderful fruits is the pit, but don’t buy pitted dates instead. It’s really simple to remove the pit prior to pureeing these babies.

They are long, yellow, and shaped like a smile: bananas are a simple way to make your sweets, well, sweet. Wait for them to have spots on them because that means they are extra sweet and ripe. Green bananas are decidedly starchier and not as good for no-bake treats.

We're thrilled to share these Mini Lemon Lavender Bundt Cakes, carefully crafted to be vegan-friendly.

This recipe doesn’t call for bananas or dates, but it does call for apples and raisins. Raisins are another fantastic ingredient in no-bake desserts because they provide sweetness and help to congeal your mixture of goodness (that is, a combo of fruits and seeds or nuts, or grains).

2. Oats, Nuts, or Seeds

Oats are a great binder for no-bake treats. Nuts can be used, too, either in place of the oats or in conjunction with them. Seeds are another option. Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and flaxseeds are all perfect for no-bake treats.

3.  Spices and Liquid Love

Cocoa powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla are all no-bake treat-friendly. You could even use pink Himalayan sea salt for a twist. “Liquid love” is a category for extra sweet stuff like grade B maple syrup, alternative milks, or coconut oil for those of you who consume it.

No-Bake Treats Tools

1. Food Processor or Blender

To achieve an even texture in your dessert and to uniformly mix all the ingredients, most no-bake recipes require a food processor or blender. If you don’t already have or can’t find one or both of these kitchen appliances, hurry on over to the store or to your garage to get them. They don’t have to be high tech or complicated. They just need to grind stuff up.

2. Parchment Paper

Parchment paper is a great way to prevent your date or raisin creations from sticking to each other or your grandma’s treasured pan. Lay a sheet down in whatever pan you’re using and form your bars, balls, or pie right on top of it. Then, you let your treats sit for however long the recipe calls for.

3. Glass Storage

If possible, don’t use plastic to store your goodies (but if you must, that’s alright). The issue with plastic is that it can leach the chemicals that were used to produce it onto the food that you’re storing. Glass is much safer. There are a ton of companies that make food storage containers from glass, so don’t think it’s impossible. And, if all else fails, slap your treats in mason jars (hey, it will be a single serving!).
