  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F and lightly coat a baking sheet with oil, or use parchment paper for effortless cleanup.
  2. Combine onion, garlic, parsley, and zucchini in a food processor; pulse until the mixture is uniformly chopped.
  3. Combine the vegetables in a large bowl and incorporate all the dry ingredients, including baking powder, through flax meal. Stir well.
  4. Wet your hands slightly, as the mixture may become tacky, and shape into small, golf-ball-sized portions. Evenly spaced across the baking sheet, the treats are arranged, their tops generously garnished with a liberal sprinkling of sesame seeds.
  5. Preheat the oven to its highest temperature setting. Bake for 10 minutes, then carefully remove the batch from the oven and gently turn them over. Return the treats to the oven and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes or until they’re perfectly toasted and a beautiful golden brown. Please ensure you adjust cooking time according to your oven’s specifications; check on the dish after approximately 8 minutes of cooking.
  6. 6. Serve with a refreshing lemon-avocado mayo or your preferred condiment. Savoring them individually, using them as a starting point for a meal, or incorporating them into a fresh mix of greens – these delightful morsels truly shine in any application.

Why Savoring Squash Blossoms Should Be a Summer Staple? While squash blossoms are often overlooked in favor of their more famous cousins, the fruits they eventually produce, these delicate flowers pack a flavor punch that’s sure to delight. Here, we’ll delve into the world of squash blossoms and explore the reasons why you should be enjoying them this summer. But first, let’s start with the basics: what are squash blossoms, exactly? In short, they’re the edible flowers that grow on various types of squash, including zucchini, yellow crookneck, and acorn squash. They have a delicate, almost ethereal quality to them, with a subtle sweetness that makes them a perfect addition to a wide range of dishes. So why should you be enjoying squash blossoms this summer? For starters, they’re incredibly versatile – stuff them with cheese or herbs for an impromptu appetizer, sauté them with garlic and olive oil as a side dish, or add them to soups and salads for a burst of flavor. And let’s not forget their impressive nutritional profile: squash blossoms are rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as potassium and fiber. But beyond their practical uses, squash blossoms also hold a certain romantic charm – imagine strolling through a lush garden on a warm summer evening, the scent of blooming flowers filling the air as you pluck the delicate buds from the vine. It’s an experience that’s equal parts nostalgic and indulgent. So how do you go about enjoying squash blossoms? Here are a few simple tips to get you started: * Harvest them in the early morning or late evening, when they’re at their freshest. * Rinse them gently with cold water to remove any dirt or debris. * Stuff them with your favorite fillings – ricotta and parmesan work particularly well – and drizzle with olive oil for a simple but elegant appetizer. In short, squash blossoms are the perfect summer treat: flavorful, nutritious, and steeped in romance. So why not give them a try? Your taste buds (and your sense of adventure) will thank you!
