Parfaits are delicious. In the United States, parfait can mean one of two things. The first is the traditional French dessert that is a frozen dessert made from sugar syrup, egg, cream, and liqueur. It’s like a boozy, high-end ice cream. The second version of parfait is the American version, made by layering ice cream, yogurt, or gelatin with fresh fruit and granola in a tall ice cream sundae glass.
The best part about an American parfait is the different textures you get in every bite, thanks to the layers. If you’re trying to eat more plant-based foods, don’t worry! You don’t have to miss out on parfaits because not only can we find dairy-free yogurt and ice cream in grocery stores, but we can also make our own dairy-free yogurt and ice cream!
