Crock Pot Peppermint Pretzel Candy is easy, festive and delicious! Making these salty/sweet pretzel clusters in the slow cooker is an easy candy making method!

Crock Pot Candy Is A Multitaskers Dream Candy Recipe!

I will be the first to admit, this Crock Pot Candy is not a shortcut. It certainly doesn’t take a long time, but it involves your slow cooker…and it’s right there in the name…SLOW. Stay with me, though. It will really only take about 30 minutes…and it’s SUCH a great way to tackle multiple things at once. Plus, slow cookers are a FANTASTIC way to melt chocolate. Even if you’re melting chocolate for something else entirely, like my Snowman Oreo Cookie Balls, you can go ahead and melt you chocolate right in your Crock Pot. This way, the chocolate never hardens, or needs to be reheated, until you turn it off. It’s pretty genius if you ask me!

And we’re on Day 2 of The 12 Days of Christmas Cookies! And sure, while these are technically “cookies” they sure do look sweet on your cookie platter!

How to Melt Chocolate in the Crock Pot

Melting chocolate in a slow cooker is SUCH a great method. If you are busy in your kitchen trying to get things done, all you have to do is pour your chocolate in the slow cooker, turn it on low, and in 30-ish minutes you’re good to go! Stir it every so often to make sure it’s evenly melting and you’ll be all set.

Of course, you can cook the chocolate too long, and it will most definitely burn, so just watch it and stir once or twice during the heating time and you shouldn’t have any issues!

What Type Of Chocolate Melts Best In the Crock Pot?

For this Crock Pot Pretzel Candy recipe (and most recipes when I melt chocolate) I have been using Ghirardelli Melting Wafers. They melt fantastically and they taste great. You could also use almond bark. I wouldn’t recommend using white chocolate chips in the slow cooker to melt (or in general really). They seize up and burn quickly and tend to be finicky. Some brands are better than others, but overall, I would avoid them and stick to the melting disks!

Crock Pot Peppermint Pretzel Candy Clusters are festive and easy!

This Crock Pot Peppermint Pretzel Candy is so cute on your holiday cookie plate. The clusters with the crushed candy canes are the perfect pop of wintery white. And if you’re a salty/sweet lover, this is an absolutely perfect treat. The cool mint paired with the white chocolate is one of my favorite flavor combinations.

  1. Place the candy disks into your slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 35-40 minutes, or until melted and smooth when stirred.
  2. Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  3. Turn off heat, and remove ceramic insert from slow cooker, if possible. Add in the peppermint extract and stir to combine.
  4. Stir in the pretzels and crushed candy canes, until coated.
  5. Using a small cookie scoop drop the mixture onto the prepared baking sheets, forming clusters. You can sprinkle some extra crushed candy canes on top for garnish, if desired.
  6. In a small bowl melt the dark chocolate in 20- second increments until smooth. Drizzle the pretzel clusters with the chocolate.

35 YUMMY AND QUICK RECIPES
Can you believe that a simple mixture of cooked walnuts, oats, and spices can create the most convincing taco “meat” substitute? The best part is that it’s completely plant-based, so you don’t have to worry about sacrificing flavor or texture. To make this game-changing vegan alternative, simply cook 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts in a skillet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil until they’re lightly toasted and fragrant. Next, add 1/4 cup of rolled oats, 1 minced onion, 1 minced garlic clove, 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, salt to taste, and a pinch of black pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the mixture is lightly browned and has a nutty aroma. Now it’s time to add some moisture to this walnut taco “meat”. Simply stir in 1 tablespoon of tomato paste and 1 tablespoon of water, then season with a squeeze of lime juice and a sprinkle of cilantro.
