When strawberry season rolls around, I’m always looking for ways to use up those sweet, juicy berries. I love making my strawberry cottage cheese breakfast bowl and strawberry banana baked oatmeal, but this homemade strawberry juice has quickly become a favorite in our house—especially with my kiddos!

It’s one of those recipes that feels a little fancy but takes almost no effort. Whether we’re heading to the pool or just hanging out inside, a cold glass of this juice always hits the spot.

Why You Gotta Try This One

This strawberry juice is honestly one of the simplest, most refreshing drinks I’ve made lately. And it’s such a great way to use up fresh strawberries!

All you need are strawberries—sometimes I’ll add a splash of water or lemon juice to thin it out, but that’s it. Even though it’s so simple, it somehow tastes like something you’d get at a fancy juice bar.

The best part? You don’t even need a juicer! I actually have one, but I rarely use it because it’s always such a process. I love that I can just toss the strawberries into a blender or food processor, blend, strain, and enjoy. I especially love pouring this juice over ice with sparkling water for a strawberry spritzer or using the juice to make a strawberry lemonade refresher. It always hits the spot, especially on hot summer days by the pool.

Ingredients Needed

You only need three simple ingredients to make this strawberry juice— and two of them are optional! It truly couldn’t be easier.

  • fresh strawberries – the star of the show! I recommend using ripe, in-season strawberries for the best flavor and natural sweetness. Wash, dry, and hull them before blending.
  • water or coconut water – optional, but great for thinning out the juice to your desired consistency and making it extra hydrating. I love using coconut water for a subtle tropical twist, but plain filtered water works perfectly too.
  • lemon or lime juice – another optional add-in, but a splash of fresh citrus really helps brighten the flavor and balance out the natural sweetness. Use whichever you have on hand—they both work beautifully.

Optional Recipe Additions

Want to switch things up? Here are a few fun ways to put a twist on this simple strawberry juice:

  • Honey or maple syrup: If your berries aren’t quite sweet enough, a touch of sweetener can help.
  • Mint: A few fresh mint leaves can give the juice a refreshing twist.
  • Sparkling water: For a homemade strawberry spritzer!

How to Make Strawberry Juice

Step 1: Rinse the strawberries well and pat them dry with a clean towel. Slice off the green tops using a knife.

Step 2: Place the strawberries in a blender or food processor and blend until completely pureed.

Step 3: Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a glass to catch any seeds.

Step 4: Serve and enjoy!

Brittany’s Tips for the Best Strawberry Juice

  • Use ripe strawberries: The riper they are, the sweeter your juice will be—no added sweetener needed!
  • Use a high-powered blender: A powerful blender helps break down the berries quickly and gives you a smoother juice. If your blender isn’t as strong, you may need to blend a little longer or add more liquid.
  • Strain it or not: Totally up to you! I like mine with a little texture, but straining gives it that ultra-smooth, juice-bar feel.
  • Kid-friendly tip: Pour the juice into popsicle molds and freeze for healthy, hydrating summer treats.

How to Store Strawberry Juice

This juice is best enjoyed fresh, but you can absolutely make it ahead of time! Just pour it into a sealed glass jar or bottle and store it in the fridge. It’ll stay fresh for up to 3 days. Be sure to give it a good shake or stir before drinking—natural separation is totally normal.

Tip! If you want to keep it even longer, freeze the juice in ice cube trays for smoothies or quick strawberry refreshers!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a juicer to make strawberry juice?

Nope! A high-speed blender works perfectly. You’ll just strain the juice through a fine mesh strainer to catch the pulp and seeds.

Can I make this juice without straining it?

Yes! Straining gives it a smooth, juice-bar texture, but if you don’t mind a bit of pulp and seeds, you can totally skip that step.

Can I use frozen strawberries?

Yes! Just thaw them before blending. Frozen berries can actually make the juice a little thicker and more refreshing, kind of like a slushy. So good!
