What’s for dessert? Let me tell you, these chocolate brownies are a real treat. Here’s my take on the classic recipe.
First, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Now, get a large mixing bowl and whisk together 1 cup (200g) of unsalted butter, softened, with 2 cups (250g) of sugar. Yes, it’s a lot of sugar, but trust me, these brownies need it.
Next, crack in 4 large eggs and whisk until smooth. Now it’s time to bring in the chocolatey goodness! Melt 1 cup (120g) of dark chocolate chips or chunks with 1/2 cup (60g) of unsalted butter in a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each interval.
Once melted and smooth, let it cool slightly before whisking it into the sugar mixture. Don’t overmix! Now it’s time for the flour – 1 1/2 cups (190g) of plain all-purpose flour, to be exact. Whisk until just combined, then stir in a pinch of salt.
Pour the batter into an 8-inch (20cm) square baking pan lined with parchment paper and smooth the top. Pop it in the oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
Let those brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting them up and serving. And that’s it! A rich, fudgy, and utterly divine chocolate brownie recipe. Enjoy!
