Crispy vegan air-fryer wontons are going to be your newest obsession! This recipe puts a healthier spin on the Chinese classic. You can now make homemade wontons at home in your air-fryer! Don’t have an air fryer? Not to worry, because you can still make this recipe by pan-frying them as well. Not only are these vegan wontons healthier than the traditional fried version, but they are fun to make and are the perfect appetizer for dinner parties and celebrations!

What You’ll Need

  • Airfryer
  • Wonton wrappers
  • Plant-based ground “meat”
  • Carrot (grated or minced)
  • Cabbage (grated)
  • Mushrooms (finely Chopped)
  • Scallions
  • Garlic
  • Soy sauce
  • Chili sauce (optional)
  • Sesame oil
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • Water

Preparation

1. Start by adding the vegetables to a hot, oiled pan. Cook until lightly brown, and remove vegetables from heat.

2. Add in your soy sauce or chili sauce, garlic, pepper, salt, and any other spices of your choice.  Let everything cool before moving on to the assembly of the wontons.

3. Put one wonton wrapper on a flat surface at a time, and add a small portion of the veggie mixture in the center of the wrapper. Dip your finger in water and run your finger along the top half of the wrapper. Pull the bottom half of the wrapper over the veggies mixture and line up the corners. Wet your finger with water again and wet the bottom corners of the wonton. Gently fold over the bottom corners of the wonton, so one sits on top of the other, and apply slight pressure to seal it.

4. Preheat the air fryer to about 350 degrees. Once your air fryer is preheated, add the wontons to the air fryer and let them cook for about 5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

5. Let them cool. Serve with dipping sauce on the side.

Important tips to keep in mind

  • It’s important not to add too much filling to your wontons. If they are overstuffed, it will be difficult to seal them properly.
  • Sealing the wontons with a small amount of water will help the wonton paper stick properly.
  • When using an air fryer, make sure not to burn the wontons! They only need to be cooked for about 5-6 minutes.

Shepherd’s Pie: The Ultimate Comfort Food Recipe? A classic comfort food recipe that never goes out of style, shepherd’s pie is a hearty dish made with tender beef, rich vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes. To make the perfect shepherd’s pie, start by preheating your oven to 350°F (180°C). Next, cook 1 pound ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it’s browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Once the beef is cooked, add 1 onion, diced, and 2 cloves garlic, minced, to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are soft and fragrant, then season with salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs. Meanwhile, boil 2-3 large potatoes in a pot of salted water until they’re tender. Drain the potatoes and add 1/4 cup milk, butter, salt, and pepper to mash them smooth and creamy. To assemble the shepherd’s pie, spread half the mashed potatoes in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with the beef and vegetable mixture, then finish with the remaining mashed potatoes. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking until the top is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly. Serve hot and enjoy! What’s your favorite way to make shepherd’s pie?
