I was thrilled to learn that crafting raw vegan chocolate requires only a few, simple ingredients – including cocoa powder and cocoa butter, with no dairy in sight. I combined this recipe with a rich and creamy mixture that included peanut butter, finely ground hazelnuts, and a subtle kick from a pinch of chili pepper.

Raw Vegan Spicy Chocolate Truffles with a Twist

Raw Spicy Chocolate Bonbons with a Kick: A Vegan Treat

  • 30g ground hazelnuts
  • 1/2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 50g raw cocoa butter
  • 3 tbsp raw cocoa powder
  • 1-2 tbsp raw agave syrup
  • pinch chili flakes

Can You Create a Blissful Treat with Just 5 Ingredients?

  1. Slowly melt the high-quality cocoa butter in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water.
  2.  Gradually whisk in the rich, velvety cocoa powder and the subtle sweetness of the agave syrup as the mixture cools, then remove from heat.
  3.  Combining the ground hazelnuts with the chili powder and creamy peanut butter in a single bowl creates a harmonious blend of flavors.
  4.  Pour the rich, velvety chocolate mixture slowly and deliberately into the silicone mold, carefully filling each bonbon hole to approximately halfway.
  5.  Scoop a measured amount of the peanut butter mixture into each indentation using a teaspoon. Finish by drizzling a final layer of rich, velvety chocolate over the bonbons.
  6.  Allow to chill in the freezer for several hours or store in the refrigerator overnight.
